Windsor police raided an illegal magic mushroom retail outlet Friday, the sixth time the store has been targeted in 18 months.
The most recent seizure netted $23,190 worth of psilocybin and the arrest of one individual.
Officers with the drugs and guns unit executed a search warrant at the dispensary, known as Fun Guyz, located in the 300 block of Ouellette Avenue, shortly after 11 a.m. on Jan. 10.

The raid came days after police seized $20,000 in illegal drugs and charged a 20-year-old employee with drug trafficking.
Since July 2023, officers have raided the same storefront location six times, seizing more than $163,000 worth of psilocybin-infused products.
In response to the downtown Windsor business that openly sells magic mushrooms, city police vowed in July 2023 to hold “criminally accountable” anyone in possession of or trafficking in outlawed substances.
Sales of products containing the hallucinogen psilocybin are illegal in Canada.
Health Canada warns that taking magic mushrooms can cause people to “see, hear or feel things that are not there, or to experience anxiety, fear, nausea and muscle twitches accompanied by increased heart rate and blood pressure.”
This latest bust comes after the company said in November that after hundreds of police raids it was closing down all its Ontario storefronts.
Fun Guyz Windsor store was one of 11 franchise stores that sprouted up across Ontario in 2023.
Police said they located and seized 1,789 grams of dried psilocybin, 1,640 caps of psilocybin, six psilocybin vape pens and $150 in cash at the Windsor store Friday.

A 35-year-old employee has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking.

Fun Guyz may have finally given up the fight in downtown Windsor. Following the latest raid all company storefront signage had been removed and the interior was empty as of Tuesday.
Police say this remains an ongoing investigation.
